This delightful original artwork showcases a pair of cheeky Rainbow Lorikeets (Trichoglossus moluccanus), their mischievous personalities brought to life through intricate detail and vibrant colours. Known for their playful nature and dazzling plumage, Rainbow Lorikeets are a beloved sight across Australian landscapes, their bold hues standing out against any backdrop.

Capturing these lively birds was a true joy, especially as I delved into the intricate textures of the wood—exploring the whorls, grain, and bark with care. The dynamic interplay of their stunning colours—rich greens, fiery oranges, deep blues, and sunny yellows—contrasts beautifully with the soft pastel background, creating a vibrant yet harmonious composition.

The original artwork took over 84 hours to complete and is hand drawn in lightfast coloured pencils (Faber Castell Polychromos) on artist quality paper (Strathmore 300 Bristol) so it will last a lifetime. The background is completed in pan pastels.
