This little artwork features a splendid blue wren (Malurus splendens) drawn in coloured pencil, showing off the vibrant blues that make him such a standout bird.

We met this guy hopping around a farmyard while we were on a camping trip. His colors were just stunning—definitely living up to the name "splendid!" I had a lot of fun sketching him in coloured pencil, with the messy weeds in the background giving it a natural, relaxed vibe.

The original artwork took around 20 hours to complete and is hand drawn in lightfast coloured pencils (Faber Castell Polychromos) on artist quality paper (Strathmore 300 Bristol) so it will last a lifetime.
